Where do these lines come from?

This problem only occurs on iPhones from the X series onwards. This phenomenon does not occur on previous series, which had different screen technology.

Before the iPhone X, iPhones had LCD screens. Since the iPhone X, screens have switched to OLED technology. It is this technology that creates these green lines when the screen is subjected to impact.

What can be done to remove these lines?

As explained above, these vertical lines appear on OLED screens following an impact. This means that the OLED display has been damaged and needs to be replaced.

To fix your display problem, the only solution is to replace your iPhone screen so that you no longer see these green lines!

Even if the display is the problem and the touchscreen glass is undamaged, it is very difficult to separate them and replace only the display (which is the more expensive of the two parts) because the touchscreen glass and OLED display are glued together at the factory.

Can I claim on my warranty?

Unfortunately, no. As explained above, this phenomenon is caused by impact.

If the phone is original, Apple (or the retailer) will not cover the repair as it is not a manufacturing defect*.
If you have replaced your screen with one purchased from a spare parts dealer, the same rule applies.

*In France, there is a two-year legal warranty on electronic devices, but it only covers manufacturing defects. Apple only offers paid insurance with several protection options. If you have this, check your terms and conditions.
