Screen mirroring is a very useful feature on iPhones that allows you to display your device's screen on a larger screen, such as a television or computer. This can be useful for presenting slideshows, watching videos, or sharing content with others. Here's how to enable this feature in a few simple steps.

Check device compatibility

Before you begin, ensure you have the following:

  • A compatible iPhone (generally, all recent models support this feature).

  • An AirPlay-compatible device (such as an iApple, a television with built-in AirPlay, or a computer using screen mirroring software).

  • A stable Wi-Fi connection shared between both devices.

Enable screen mirroring

Follow these steps to enable screen mirroring:

Open Control Centre:

  • On an iPhone with Face ID: swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen.

  • On an iPhone with a Home button: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen.

Select 'Screen Mirroring':

Tap the "Screen Mirroring" icon, represented by two overlapping rectangles.

Choose the playback device:

  • A list of available AirPlay-compatible devices will appear.

  • Select the device on which you want to display your iPhone screen.

Enter a code (if requested):

If you are using an iApple, TV, or other device that requires authentication, a code will appear on the screen of the destination device. Enter this code on your iPhone to establish the connection.

Stop screen capture

Once you are finished, here is how to stop screen mirroring:

  • Return to the Control Centre.

  • Tap 'Screen Mirroring' again.

  • Select "Stop Mirroring".

Tips and tricks

Be mindful of your notifications

If you are sharing your screen with other people, bear in mind that all activity on your iPhone is copied to the screen, including notifications.

If you do not want your notifications to appear on the screen, you can disable them by going to Settings, Notifications, Screen Sharing, and turning off the Allow Notifications option.

Connection quality

Ensure that both devices are connected to a fast and stable Wi-Fi network for an optimal experience.

Protected content

Some content, such as purchased films or series, may be restricted from screen mirroring due to copyright restrictions.
