Have you had your Samsung for several years, or is it starting to show signs of wear and tear? Consider checking the health of your battery!

Samsung smartphones are equipped with built-in tools and are compatible with third-party applications that allow you to monitor the health of your battery. Here is a comprehensive guide to performing this check.

Step 1: Check via your phone settings

Access your smartphone settings:

  • Open the Settings app on your Samsung smartphone.
  • Go to "Device maintenance and battery":
  • Find and select Maintenance and battery (or "Device care" depending on the One UI version).
  • View battery information:
  • Tap Battery, then explore the options to view data on battery usage and overall condition.

If an analysis or diagnostic option is available, use it to get more details.

Although the standard settings do not always display the precise health status (as a percentage), they can detect problems such as excessive consumption or anomalies.

Step 2: Use the Samsung Members app

Download or open Samsung Members:

The Samsung Members app is often pre-installed on devices. If it is not, download it from the Galaxy Store or Google Play Store.

Run a diagnostic:

Open the app, go to the Support tab (or "Get help").

Select Device Diagnostics, then select Battery to run a thorough check.

The result will tell you whether the battery is working properly or needs attention.

Step 3: Use specialised third-party applications

If you want more specific details, such as the actual remaining capacity or the number of charge cycles, you can use third-party applications:

Download an application from the Galaxy Store, follow the instructions to set it up, and then monitor data such as:

  • Remaining charge capacity.
  • The number of charge cycles completed.
  • Battery wear over time.

Please note: make sure you research the application thoroughly before downloading it to ensure its reliability. To do this, check the number of downloads and the app's rating.

Step 4: Interpret the results

If the charge capacity falls below 80% of the original capacity, it is recommended that you consider replacing the battery.

Replacing the battery will give your phone several more years of life!

You can replace the battery yourself by ordering a new one directly from our website. A tool kit is provided free of charge, and tutorials are available on our YouTube channel to guide you through the repair process.

Tips for maintaining battery health

Be aware that your habits affect the life of your battery! Here are some tips to help extend the life of your battery.

Avoid letting the battery run completely flat: Recharge it when the level reaches around 20%.

Do not overheat the device: Keep your phone in cool environments.
