This component connects the headphone jack, the Lightning connector, the call microphone and the network to the iPhone 6 Plus’s motherboard; if you are experiencing the following problems, it needs replacing:
- difficulty inserting a ‘charger’ into the Lightning port
- there is play in the connector
- you have to wiggle the connector for charging to start
- the sound crackles in the headphones
- you have no sound through the headphones
- You can’t synchronise with a computer
- The person you’re speaking to can’t hear you properly or at all
The insides of the connectors are grey; they’re fitted as originals on a black iPhone 6 Plus but can be fitted without any issues on a white or gold model.
