At World iTech, we offer several types of screens, featuring different technologies and levels of quality. It is not always easy to navigate the options and know which one to choose!

The different screen technologies

OLED screens

OLED screens use organic light-emitting diodes to produce light and colours. Each pixel emits its own light, resulting in deeper blacks and more vivid colours compared to other screen technologies.

These displays are generally thinner and more flexible than other types of displays, offering wider viewing angles.

As the highest quality technology available today, OLED screens are more expensive than TFT/Incell screens.

TFT/Incell screens

TFT/Incell screens are a more economical option, but they differ significantly from OLED screens in terms of display technology. TFT (Thin Film Transistor) and Incell (integration of the touch sensor into the LCD panel) technologies are used in LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screens.

Unlike OLED screens, TFT/Incell screens do not produce their own light, which can result in lower image quality, limited viewing angles and higher energy consumption.

They are generally less expensive than OLED screens.

The different types of screens

The "official" new screen or "service pack

This type of screen comes from the factory, so it has never been used, unlike the refurbished version.

If you see the word 'new' or 'official', it means it's a Screen manufactured by the phone manufacturer (Samsung for example).

The official screen is the the highest quality you can find.

For iPhone screens, you should know thatApple does not sell spare parts. That's why we recover the screens from new iPhones that have just come off the assembly line and have never been used. We then recover the parts and resell them as spare parts.

Benefits :

- you can be sure of getting a screen of the same quality as your original one.

Disadvantage :

- this is the most expensive type of screen.

Refurbished or "original" screen

A refurbished screen is one that has been used before and then factory refurbished to like-new condition.

The touchscreen is always replaced by a new one, with only the original display and its tablecloths remaining.

The screen is tested to ensure its functionality before being offered for sale as an 'original' or 'refurbished as new' screen.

For screens with chassis, the chassis is also replaced.

Benefits :

- The characteristics of the screen are the same as for a new screen,

- it's an official screen

- The price is lower than that of a new original screen.

Disadvantage :

- This is a second-hand screen, and its lifespan may be shorter than that of a new screen.

The compatible screen

A new compatible screen is not manufactured by the manufacturer of the device, but by a third-party factory. Think of it as a copy of the official screen, with low-quality materials.

These screens are produced to the specifications required to be compatible with the device's technology quality is basic.

This type of screen is useful if you need to retrieve data, but is not a long-term solution.

However, there are an exception for iPhones. The OLED-compatible screen is a good value for money alternative.

Advantage:

- This is the least expensive type of screen.

Disadvantages :

- The quality is much lower than that of a new or refurbished screen, which can have an impact on your user experience,

- The materials used are not of good quality, which makes it more fragile.

In summary, the main difference between these types of screens lies in the display technology used (OLED, TFT, In-Cell) and the condition of the screen (new, refurbished to new). The option you choose will depend on your preferences in terms of image quality, flexibility, cost and other factors specific to your intended use.

First and foremost, remember to check the technology of your original screen to ensure compatibility with the replacement screen.
